Flaming Gorge

I am heading out to Flaming Gorge next week and was wondering if there are any other places besides Mustang Ridge and Gilligan's Island that are good places to dive. I will also be doing some spear fishing so any special tips on where best fish are would be great.

I've never been to Flaming Gorge so it's going to be a fun trip. I heard that it is one of the best diving locations in Utah.

Boat or shore?
You should have a boat to do Gilligans. That's a loooong swim if not. Mary-Ann Island is far enough.
Cart Creek Bridge area is pretty popular as is the area in front of the Vistors Center.

Go after the Burbot if your spearfishing. Unlimited and you can shoot them at night.

Going to be crowded with divers.

We have a boat, but we were told last week that you cannot dive close to the visitors center or swim from the visitors center to Gilligan's island because park rangers are scared of someone entering there and planting explosives on the dam.

Our local dive club will be there Saturday diving with us, so there are going to be tons of divers in the water. We are taking a small ROV we built to test it out. It only has a 100' tether on it so it cant get too lost.

We are definitely going after the burbot. I heard they taste good.

We diving with Scuba Ted's dive club. We may be taking the air trailer up for them. I'm not sure yet though.
