My backplate has holes drilled all around the edge. I put some bungee loops on the bottom (an idea I got from someone else), through which I thread a lift bag.

Works great.

I have a DSMB that I carry on one plate, I also have a baby SMB to clip on D-ring when the DSMB is overkill.

What Tobin posted is exactly how mine is setup. Liftbag on the outside of the crotch strap, like the video.
