Other than angle of coverage, my favorite two features of overpowered Ikelite strobes are;

Using them as a primary dive lite for two dives as well as shooting over 100 shots

Running them at lowest power settings with camera in raw "burst" mode and having the strobe fire for all 4 shots in less than 4 seconds :D

WOW, starting some serious debates here. So to answer a few questions.
Current setup is a Sony W150 in the sony OEM housing, with the AF35.

My proposed setup will look like the following:
1 X Fisheye FIX S95 housing
1 X Fisheye FIX M 52/67 Fisheye Conversion Lens (UWL-04)
2 X Inon D-2000 strobe

I am still playing with the numbers at this stage as to whether i will get 1 or 2 D2000's..
But given the comments in the thread, the wider angle of coverage will be awesome.
I guess the only thing will be to get used to positioning the 2 strobes instead of one.

I will be importing these items, so want to make sure i make the right choices. Else it is a very expensive mistake to make...

For what it is worth my new setup is what you are proposing except I have 1 D2000:

1 X Fisheye FIX S95 housing
1 X UWL-04
1 X Inon D-2000 strobe

That D2000 strobe is stout, very powerful. Sure you want 2 now? I was very pleased with the strength of this strobe and really found the focus light as a very nice option to have. I am however going to get a a diffuser just to get more even coverage. I have no ambition to get another D2000 at this time

Hmmm... Well, my line is thinking is, if i am going to import it, i may as well do it now, as if i decide to get one now, and then one later, i will have to pay shipping all over again. And that is another $100 odd... And i have heard from a few sources that the people with 1, always wish they had 2.

And are you happy with that setup? anything i should know about it before i buy it?

Great, read your reviews etc.. Thanks for those. Will be sure to post my experience when i get all my kit. :). Would be alot easier if i was in the states, and could get free shipping. :)

dash82,

I hope our "spirited" discussion just made you think about choices.

The INON strobes are very nice and I hope all my comments, observations, etc. were taken in the fun debate intended.

I know all my competitors selling various brands of equipment and we all get along :)

The little INON S2000 is a great unit. For traveling it is the type of units needed with weight and size restrictions getting tighter all the time.

I know lots of folks who shoot and love them. Same goes for the INON Z240 but I think they are a bit more complex to fly is all....

Nemrod chimed in affirming my comments about beam angle, power and such. The days are changing rapidly in the digital world!!!!!!

I agree with a lot of the recommendations including Halemano who is lucky to be near an ocean!!!! Mahalo' Bro ' :)

Underwater flash will be around for quite awhile and I am happy to see smaller solutions gaining ground such as the INON S2000, Sea and Sea YS110a and YS-01, plus the Ikelite AF35 and even the DS51.

Good luck in your shooting and post some pics when you get your rig up and running!

So after alot of reading, and asking many people for advice, i have decided to go for 1 Z-240 strobe. Now just have to be patient and wait for the fix housing to come in stock, so they can send me all my kit.. :). I cant wait.. Pity i wont have it for my dive trip in 2 weeks.. :/

Thanks for all your views and advice. I think i will be frequenting this forum a lot more in the near future once i have all my kit and get shooting.. :).
