Dave, we are way off track but the OP has been answered--I hope---:).

Hey, I not being prickly, just thought the rose and thorns analogy fit. Hi maintenance and all that.

Dave, you are trying to pry my Sekonic from my fingers aren't you? :O But I like it so much :)

The ball is for a 6 inch Ikelite arm, the extension can hold a light or my meter though the meter is more likely up top on the shoe. I think two handles are just over kill. The tray, as configured rests very naturally with with the left hand guiding and the right hand balancing it ready to manipulate the camera. I see no need for two handles/grips, could be wrong. Therefore I drilled it for a UCLS grip, lol.

Who made those old Nikonos I-II-II trays, it was blue, crinkle finish, U shaped channel. It had a handle on the left, the meter went on the right, a strobe went on the left where the old flash bulb gizmo went that I never could get to work. It has been so long I cannot even describe it anymore. ??

Nemrod,

I think the UWL-04, INON UWL100 with various configurations and 165 FE possibilities as you say has been beat to death :(

Until someone (likely Ryan) is able to pop them all on a FIX Canon S90 we won't know for sure what the choices are...

As far as your tray ball mount I agree. Two handles on as small a package as the S90 can be are overkill. But to each his own choice...

Ah, Grasshopper you want the old curmudgeon to reveal what those crinkle coated bright blue trays were, eh? :)

They were made by Oceanic for Nikonos II and III models. Very nice, light weight if you can find them.

Good luck to everyone getting their Canon S90 systems up and shooting great pics!

Thanks, yes, Oceanic, that was it. You saved me a journey through hundreds of slide trays.

People have been putting big lenses and accesories on little camera for years, I will not be first or last. The great thing about all three S90 housings is they are little and yet they are flexible, especially the FIX, kinda like the Nikonos:

Do you remember these, I had one, looks kinda like an Ikelite compact box don't it:

Hmmm, look at this:

I think Inon or FIX "big" glass will do just fine if we can get it on the housings. Here at Mammoth Spring a friend dives his Nikonos II rig with meter, tray and strobe and "big" lens. Little camera, big lens, will travel ;). Nothing new here at all:

Does anyone know the actual diameter of the UWL-04 lens? Reefphoto lists the dimensions as 157mm x 92.1mm but that seems to be with the lens hood on. I'm guessing it is a 6" dome but am just curious...

Devildiver on the scubatoys forum reports the diameter at approx 6 inches.
