Anyone dove with this dive shop before? If so, how are they compared with Neco Marine or Sam's? Thanks.

I have been to Palau a few times. Fish and Fins caters more to the European market. I have talked to a few Americans who have dove with them....mixed reviews. I have talked to a couple of Israelis and Europeans who dove with them and loved it. I dive with Keith at PalauDive.com.

Excellent dive shop with the best technical support in Palau (i.e. manifolded doubles, deco bottles, Nitrox and O2) and a knowledgeable skilled staff for the type of diving I do; my only minor complaint is that the shop's location is next to Koror's large landfill dump --and the smell on hot tropical days can be a bit nauseating. , ,

LOL...I forgot about that.....sometimes that can be really bad:11:

I haven't went with them (Fish and Fins) personally, but they have a good reputation locally.

Sam's Tour's (Sam's Tours: Palau Diving Micronesia, Island Hopping and dive travels), Dive Palau (Dive Palau - Welcome to diving paradise!) and Neco (Neco Marine - Luxury diving in Palau) are also all very good, and I can highly recommend each of them.

(FYI - Dive Palau is owned by a guy named Keith Santillano, (often just referred to as "Keith.") If you hear people saying the dove with Keith, but don't give you a last name or business name, they are talking about Dive Palau.)

I dove with Fish & Fins last week. I will echo the "Cater to European" comment. Only one other diver was American during the 4 days I dove with them. My only complaint would be that the most of the divers on the boat I was on only wanted to do 2 dives so it was always back to the shop before the 3rd dive. We did do 2 wrecks and short drop off for the third dives so they weren't bad dives, just not out at Blue Corner, Ulong Channel or the outer reef. This also happened with Sam's Tours on one of the 2 days I dove with them 5 years agoi. The staff at Fish N Fins was professional and very competent. The guides were considerate of where the divers on the boat wanted to go and went to Ulong Channel & Shark City based on the desires of a group that were leaving the next day. (Great Dives, but Palau and Great dives are redundant!) 5 years ago there were more Americans diving with Sams Tours on the days I was there. I do not know if this is still the case or not. There appear to be a large increase in the Japanese Tour market and Fish N Fins used a separeate boat and guides for a large group of Japanese.

I do not think you will find any problems diving with Fish & Fins unless you do not want to be with a number of French, Germans and English divers. But that's what travelling abroad is about, meeting divers from other countries and cultures. Most of the european divers on my boats did speak English so communication was not a problem.

I have been in Palau. I dove with Fsh & Fins, it's very good. It's true that there are many European divers, but there are also Americans divers and the contact is very good.

Never dove with fish n fins myself but a good buddy of mine did and loved them. I dove with neco and found them to be a great outfit. Very large with plenty of boats going to different locations. Plenty to choose from. Bert was our DM. Great guy from the states.
