Looking for a budget-wise regulator/octopus for warm water diving that will last at least for a few years?

Thanks! :dontknow:

Contact EDD Sorensen at Cave Adventurers or Mike at Dive Right In Scuba,
They can certainly help you with a good set up

Any regulator can do that for your need. Mares ranger 12 is selling for $150 on Leisurepro now (no octo). Just make sure you can find shops to service them or just throw them away after a few years since they're so cheap.

And then they can all get together with their predecessors
in discarded gear heaven and gang up on those superseded
crappy breathing double hoser's and they can all talk about
resurgence and parts availability and catch up with friends
and laugh about fashions and things that humans will never
understand.

Pretty much any req will meet your needs. Most any of the lower end regs will last for a lifetime or 2. Any of the Sherwoods (except the SR-1), Scubapro MK-2, Aqualung Calypso, Zeagle Envoy just to name a few will serve you well. I would suggest you choose a major brand that is serviced locally but otherwise any current req will do fine. Used regs can also be a good choice but a little more care is needed when you choose one as some makes and/or models are no longer servicable. Don't let a dive shop BS you with a lot of how much greater one model or brand is over another. Any of the major brands out today are pretty much equal when compairing like price range models. And once you go past the mid range models the real difference is mostly pretty sales fluff and questionably usefull features.

Why buy a warm water reg why not spend the small number of pennies to get one that will do cold water as well, you never know when you might want to dive Scapa, the arctic or maybe move to somewhere colder?
