Scenario : You are working in the LDS. A customer forgets to put the dust cap in the regulator fist stage and drops it in the cleaning tub. ( No harm intended just a helping hand).By the time you check, the reg has been soaked in water mixed with proper antiseptic for 30 minutes. Now how do you get the reg back in service :
(1) Send it for complete overhaul (not practical in remote locations)
(2) Fix it to a 200 BAR - Al-80 /Full tank and remove the the second stage hoses and let it bleed air for the whole 200 BAr and put it back in use.
Any suggestions........

If I am "working in the LDS", I'll do a dissasembly and clean/dry it. Depending on the model, the seat will also get replaced to eliminate the potential for overlapping seating grooves.

Some models do not tolerate flooding well (some diaphragm designs) and pressurization can damage them and running air through some models may not remove all the water (water in the compression chamber of a flow by piston reg for example).

Personally, if I am in a remote location I have the tools and parts needed to do the job on my regs along with me.

I concur, diffently wouldn't put it under pressure. worse case if you can't pull it apart, would be to pull all the hoses and let it sit and dry. Best thing to do is pull it a part esp if its a diaphragm model

I'd move the tub so it can't happen again, then clean/rebuild the reg . . .
