Nicely done, especially for a first time shooting underwater. You already know that several spots are very jumpy/jerky, so that is where I say you should concentrate your improvement efforts. I love the cuttlefish! Nice pan at the end, though you could have slowed it down just a hair. Most people have trouble with that, including me! Good job.

I agree about the color. That Ikelite red filter is amazing. I love mine, too.

Thanks, it wasnt all me filming (my wife did some of it - and was a bit eager to film at everything)

The Pan came out quite well, as the weeks diving went on I learnt the functions of the camera and how best to use it.

The one thing I have found with the HD over my old G9 video mode is that it is very unforgiving on movement, it picks it all up!

Some of the Ikelite housings have the monitor open at an angle. I think the IKE Canon HF200 does.

You are correct, the monitor is open at 45 degrees or so, enough to see what you are doing.

The one thing the Ikelite housing does do fantastically well is handle brilliantly in the water. its pretty much neutrally buoyant and is easier to use than my canon own brand G9 case , which, even with the weights in decides to float off wherever it pleases.

In some scenes the camera seems to struggle too much to be able to focus... Is this a caracteristic of this model or were you zooming in too much?

Could be the smoothcam I ran some of the scenes though, it has this effect.

There were a couple of times I did notice it have issues focusing, but that was mainly due to the subject being at distance and there being a tiny bubble in the filter area etc.

Off to Egypt in Feb for a boys diving holiday, will see how this setup fairs on round two of my diving with it )

one thing that I would recommend, regardless of the camera, and thats saving up to get an ikelite / other specialist case for it. Its nice canon etc do some cases for their camera's, but they are absolutely nothing compared to the specialist gear - so much easier to use.
