...and I'm alive to write about it! :-) Went to Gilboa today to do my open water dives in my brand new Bare ATR HD and it was a blast. Did two dives and I was nice and comfortable. I am quite glad I spent the extra money on the dry gloves. All in all I think this was money very well spent.

Water temp was 39-40 and viz was about 40 feet. Not many divers there, I'd say less than 20. So plenty of platforms and no waiting.

Anyways, just excited that it's March and I'm diving already. Yippeeee!

So now you have no excuses for missing Meet & Greet III in April. Congratulations on acquiring the new suit and even managing to stay dry while using it. That is quite an accomplishment.

Unfortunately I do have to miss part of the meet and greet. I have to attend an awards banquet in Columbus. I'm hoping to make it there Sunday morning though.

And I did stay bone dry. It was so cool!

hey Great Lakes Crew.... just got to drop in for a second to say:

congratz, blade!

and

we have something in common!

just yesterday, i did my first dry dive ever. went out with GDI (an instructor and
member on here) to a local sinkhole (Blue Grotto) and tried out my new used
DUI TLS350 with Dive Concepts Triliminate Extreme undergarment. it went really
well, with two minor problems:

1. i flooded the suit practicing popping seals (got carried away; didn't think that much
water would get in trhough my wrists or neck); and

2. did one too many summersaults under water and got dizzy :eyebrow:

otherwise, had a blast

Congrats! I wanted to do my dry suit open water today as well, only problem was the lake (Spring Mill Pond) was frozen :frown: Couldn't talk the instructor into driving down to Gilboa...

You'll get used to it. The next phase is wondering why you waited so long to go dry. :crafty:
