First Diver Down Flag....

I was thinking about something like this. Any recommendations or tips? I will be using this is south Florida first.

get one made of Nylon and one of the plastic markers, no good finding out a seam has burst when you really need it, it is safety equipment.
I have the https://www.diversalertnetwork.org/dive-store/?id=5 with a 15m spool. It is large and bulky to pack but it stands tall above the surface, in this case size does matter.

spools are more useful and with the double ender you can just clip the spool to your BC so you don't have to hold it

So is my link not good enough? lol All I need is a dive flag (that can be packed for air travel) that floats with a spool so I dont have to hold it. I do not see a double end on any of the spools shown.

it's $42 for a glorified kite string, the float is fine, it's just expensive. Both spools linked come with double enders on them, so you let the float up, clip the spool off onto your bc and you can just leave it. I'd go with the inflatable one from Cave Adventurers if you're flying.

OK, makes sense. The only thing is I dont see where the spool attaches to the float from the picture.

ties into the bottom, similar to the others. What diving are you doing where you'd need to tow one? Usually only use them for shore/river dives

Thanks to Scubaboard, every time I see that type of flag I immidiatly think of this post.


Personally I use this kind, I just like it for the written 'Diver Below'. Just deflate/drain the thing and it'll be perfect for travel.

Sometimes it feels like I'm flying this though...
