RichardAD:
I stand happily corrected on the diaphragm point. And as a newbie I'm glad to learn about my misunderstanding re: the mosquito. I had thought it seemed to have all I'd need but I had listened to other opinions and for a starter like me, this sport is an information minefield! Learning as I go and loving it :)

We all started somwhere. It's not the information that is the hard part. It is knowing that what anyone says is merely an opinion.

ok, thanks guys!
I was thinking about getting the Suunto Gekko as my computer, it seems pretty decent, my brother has the Vyper, he sells home made computer connections for them for £25 on some english diving board, hes all sold out!
thanks for all your advice, i might do that, buy an okish reg now, and then for a "treat" when i get my instructor, buy nice"er" ones.
Thanks again!!!

Leni:
I'm looking to buy my first set of regs, and i have an idea of what i want, but i dont want to break the bank this is what i thought:
Oceanic Alpha7 £160 +octopus £55
and then for my console, something called Sunto Dual in line(or something?) £112
what i want to know, is do you think this is a good idea, and would i be able to carry on using them, for when im an instructor(im aiming high), would i need somthing better?would you suggest i spen a bit more money now?
thanks for any help!
Leni

Leni- simply for FYI purposes, I just got a new in the box Aqualung Titan with a XLC octo from ebay. The package you are looking at looks like about $600 US. Cost of Titan reg with octo= $180 (delivered), another $35 apx for an enviromental seal kit and the Suunto CB-Two (SPG and depth gauge, in line, new housing) go for about $100, also on ebay. Total of $315 US or about 175 pounds.
