I thought we should start a thread with the title that says what we are doing. JBD could you keep an eye on it this week as I will be out of town until Thurs Night.

The Date: October 26, 2002

The Place: Joe's Falling Rock Quarry in LaGrange KY near Louisville

The Time: The Pumpkin Diving will begin at 1:00, but feel free to come early and dive first.

We will have some people camping so feel free to plan to stay the night and dive on Sunday too. For those who don't want to camp LaGrange has several hotels

There will be a bon fire that night.

There is no food on site so bring what you want.

The water temp today was 64 F with no thermoclines so bring appropriate exposure protection.

I hope to see you all there.

add. We are planning on doing a night dive with the jack-o-lanterns lit up underwater. Bring cameras if you can. Also try to bring something to light up the pumpkins for better photo results. Check in the Underwater photography section for a thread about this. Hopefully someone can include a link in this thread.

As noted by my buddy ckharlan66 the water temp was 64 today and the air temp was in the mid 50's with a little breeze blowing. During the surface interval its quite easy to get chilled with a wet wetsuit on. Bring something to to wear or shelter you from any breeze or wind. Those that have drysuits may want to wear them.

For the night dive bring tank markers(I think that the cylume sticks are preferable to the strobe types).

I'll be coming with my hubby and 3 people from the university program.

Dry suit for 64 degrees? WUSSSSS!

Actually I thought about bringing my dry suit but I wanted to have a good time so I'm going WET! I'd rather be WET and COLD than fight with that dry suit.

YAYYYY! My first underwater pumpkin carving!

Hey JBD, what time will you be getting there Saturday?

I have to be at work at 3 in the afternoon but if I can get my lazy bones up early enough I might give it a go for an early morn (around 9) dip or two.

I thinks me and Betsy will be at tha pond bout 9 a.m. in the mornin. How do you breath from them pumpkins though? That Scube quipment sure wuz fun to use. I'm happy bout that fine scube dive shop to rent me scube quipment without a scube dive liscense.

Not sure what time I'll get there but may try to get there early enough to do a morning dive if you can make it.

I have to work Friday night, should get finished by midnight.

Saturday I need to be back by 3 to go to work so I figure if I can hit the road by 8 or so, can be there and in the water by 10 for dive 1 and noonish for dive 2. What do you think?
