Wow, yesterday was filled with really cool stuff! No matter how many times we do Firehouse, there is always something new and cool to see!

First, we barely descended before we were running into octopuses, this is the only one that stayed in one spot long enough for me to get a pic of him...

Then, as we had our heads in the reef, we almost missed this guy flying by...

We went through the Cathedral.

Then I saw what I thought was a huge scrambled egg nudi at the time (my hand is there for perspective)

Then I saw his friend just a couple of feet away.

But neither of them could prepare me for these Clumpy Nudis!

The Hoover book says they do grow big though...

They were hanging out JUST outside the Firehouse entry/exit.

We then had a nice chat with this beautiful colored guy.

He smiles great for the camera! (such a ham!)

It must have been breeding time for the White Margin nudis, I saw six that were in the same 10 ft of each other. These three, another set of two and a single one off a bit from the others...

All in all, a GREAT dive! Thanks sea nmf!!!

It was nice! Good shots, CL! The nudi's looked even bigger with the 25% extra you get in water.

:D That's why the eagle ray looked 20' across!

great find on the clumpy nudis!
YOU find all the cool stuff! :D

i know what you mean..
today, i was swimming out of a cavern near the elevator shaft..
and almost missed two eagle rays flying directly above me..
luckily, something told me to look UP!

The clumpies were merely by accident! We had surfaced and I was sort of snorkeling it back into the inlet when they caught my attention. I had no idea what they were when I saw them, just that they looked out of place... I deflated my BC to have a closer look and went "HOLY CRAP! I never knew they got THAT big!", but I guess they do! We saw another one on the right side of Firehouse at the end of the second dive.
