hi, just took up diving but before i did i already had some of my basic equipment ready. One of them were the fins. I have been using full foot fins that requires no booties. I find it less cumbersome, and less to gear up with. I just noticed that majority wear the whole suit thing: booties, fins, etc... Does it make much of a difference in my diving wether i opt to change or not? Just thought I'd ask

Welcome to the board.
Which type of fin depends a lot on the diving you do. If all the diving you do is off a boat or sandy beach in warm water, full foot fins are fine. On the other hand, cold water or hard rocky shore entrys are much better in booties and open heal fins. I dive Bonaire a lot which has almost no sandy beaches. The iron stone and coral rubble on the beaches are really rough on your feet, only the most hard core dive Bonaire twice with full foot fins.
The choice is yours, many divers have both types and use which ever best suits the dive, something you will find true for most other dive gear as well. The right tool for the job.

thanks for the info!
i usually dive off anilao, batangas in the philippines which most times are from a boat, and in warm weather most months of the year. diving on shore entries may not be mostly from sandy beaches, but definitely not rubble or hard rocky shores, for now. I am considering getting another set of fins (and booties) just to equip myself for the day i do get to some dive sites that will require me to don both.

once again, thanks!
