Hi,

I was wondering what fins divers are wearing with drysuits? I have Oceanic split fins that fit with booties and a wetsuits but the boots on my Dacor drysuit only go in half way. It seems the boots have a higher instep than the fins.

Do i need a larger size fin or a fin designed for drysuit diving?

Thanks

I use XL IDI Rockets and Turtles with my 905.

The Turtles are a bit big. My foot is size 12 1/2. The Rockets are a bit small.

These fins look like a nice updated version of my Rockets. http://shop.navyseals.com/product/FNAQ621130

You will probably want spring straps. They make it a lot easier to get the fins on and off with the dry suit.

I'm a size 13, and use the scuba pro hard-sole boot, and I use the Scuba-pro twin jet. The Large was too small for me (my foot would go in, but would get numb after a while), so my LDS allowed me to trade for the XL (largest size), and it is perfect!

Basically the same old "fin-preference" question, but with a dry suit you need a larger foot pocket. That's all there is to it.

For the record, I use L/XL CressiSub Rondines (yellow) for my rec diving and Aqualung SuperRockets (black) for my tech diving. Have Manta spring straps on both sets. Also own a pair of medium ScubaPro Twin Jets for diving wet--also with spring straps.

There is no special "drysuit diving fin"; you simply need to find a fin that fits your boot.

FYI, some fin pockets are made a little larger than others, so you can get away with a single pair for both wet & dry. Such is the case with Pearce's Mares Quattros and my Dacor Tigers.

IOW, you have to try them on. ;)

I use two sets of fins, one for wetsuit/pool wear (V-Tech split fins), and one for drysuit wear (Apollo Bio split fins). I go from a women’s 8.5 shoe size in a wet suit, to needing a men’s 11 (Rock Boots) in a drysuit, because of the undergarment, socks, dry booties.

Usually if you go up one size in your fins from what you were wearing in a wetsuit you should find that they are big enough for your drysuit. Take your drysuit with you to the shop to try them on and find a proper fit.
