Well...I have found coins (nothing special, dimes, nickels, quarters) diving and walking...they are now mine

I found two rings at different dive sites. Made it known and didn't hear from anyone so they are now mine. One was a wedding band and totally flattened - guess that relationship is over anyway

About 2 years ago a guy went on one of the day cruise things and lost a family heirloom ring. We searched for it for days. Then a year later a diver from our group picked it up. The captain recognized it and called the owner...the guy that found it got a $3000 reward.

I'll try to unit possessions...but if I find a precious stone deposit in my yard, I'll keep my mouth shut until I can buy the mineral rights to the land

In my life I have returned:

1. A Rolex president.
2. Money clip with $940.00
3. Bank deposit chewed but not digessed by a night deposit drawer - 12,000 + in cash and 4000+ in checks.
4. Food to Kogers valued at 12.00+ (put in my cart on check out by mistake)
5. Countless (because Walmart checkout cashiers can't) errors in money handling.

I don't do it because of morals (well not mostly), but because it makes me feel better about who I am. I can always make money.
