Have been reading this forum since diving had peaked my interest.
I am currently 3 weeks into my ow class with 2 weeks left.

My question is other then the obvious when your comfortable
is there a specific skill set to continue into my spearing adventure

Ps I will be taking a Underwater hunter class for safety reasons.

well, I would say focus on the basics in the OW class. Just make sure you can function underwater and know how to do everything you need to do in order to just be down there. Get certified, see how it all goes down, log a couple dives, and then start a UW Hunting Class. Don't just wing it, you might hurt yourself or your buddy. Don't get too ahead of yourself, but definately keep up the good work.

just my pennyworth,

Zack

Underwater hunter? What cert orginization? What helps you be safer?

My LDS Offers it Not sure if its an actual certification but they teach you how to safely and properly Spearfish

Hammerhead Dive center
Lakeland Florida

They also give the open water course for $180
that includes everything and its not you get what you pay for
some college courses were easier to complete

Classroom, pool and open water checkout for that price is a steel! What training Org will that be? I have seen it as low as $300, but, the pool is all in one day.

Padi training over 4 weeks open water in Pompano beach boat fees are in the $180
They make no money on class however they said we make our money from equipment
sales loyalty to your LDS seems to be of utmost importance.

Will you take a suggestion from a person who has never done spearfishing or UW hunting?
