Finally able to confirm March 21-28. Got certified in Cozumel last spring and are looking foward to going back. I've been watching airfare from SW Ohio area and prices seem to have jumped this week. Anybody have any insite on that? Price was <$500 Mon and jumped to $600-$700 Tues and still seem to be creeping upward. Midweek is usually the time to find lower fares. I'm going to be patient but dang it! At these prices we could look at other locations as well. We just so loved the price of Coz as well as playing in San Miguel.

Booked April 2 weeks ago and got 2 round-trip United tickets from Detroit to Coz for $550 each.

Check charters.

Check airlines that are not in the normal search system (Like Southwest?)

Check prices to Cancun (CUN) and use the bus/ferry option to get to Cozumel

What airports can you depart from?

Well, you are looking at Spring Break season which loads up the air travel system and could affect some of your preferred flights. Looking at Matrix for flights originating within a hundred miles of Dayton OH, rejecting overnight iteneraries, limiting to one stop each direction, for 6-8 nights, I do see cheaper dates.

The flights for those exact dates are indeed higher, but then Thursday is not the best day too look...

We've been looking at packages for 6 months and can't believe how much more it is this year than last from Chicago. Crap flight times too.

I prefer to fly out of DAY being close to home but CVG and CMH are no problem. Unfortunately my dates are solid with the exception of an overnight layover on the way home. I forgot about spring break but have gotten great prices this time of year in the past. Flying into CUN is cheaper but the wife hates the idea of the bus/ferry. I usually say the journey is all part of the expereince but i NEED to keep her happy. I'll keep on checking and keep my fingers crossed.

Tuesday night after midnight seems to be the best time to shop, with 4 weeks in advance maybe the best - but that can go either way. They have a number of perishable seats to sell, and if it looks like they could perish - they go down, or if it looks like they're running out - they go up. It's a funny game. Check Matrix tho, not the airline site as they will track you even if you delete cookies and bump fares on you as you keep watching.

The bottleneck seems to be on the flight arriving Cozumel on that Saturday. Much cheaper if you overnight on the way, but that sucks.

Making it an 8 night trip even without the overnight itenerary but returning on Sunday helps.

You keep saying that but do you have anything other than anecdotal evidence that such a thing is happening? Or is it opinion expressed as fact? I have watched flights for weeks or months and I have never seen any evidence of that.

That's a known fact all throughout, Google it. They also do it on car rental websites. Browse using a redirecting site or private browse after deleting cookies/history

These articles are a little out of date, as it's worse now...

Do travel deals change based on your browsing history?

Airfare Expert: Do cookies really raise airfares?

Devious programs have since been developed that will identify not only your IP, ISP, location, and cookies but even what browsers & extensions you're using - and the major airlines certainly have the computers to organize & update records.

Experiences will vary with Windows vs Macs, OSs, browsers. I tried the Do Not Track Me extension but got irritated at how much it interrupted. I guess I need to try again.

I really can't find any good articles off hand. I have read some, tried some sites that evaluate how much they know about my computer, but I am not finding them now?
