All I know, is that as I read the advisory, San Carlos, Sonora is in the clear. Can't wait to head down and get wet.

It says "THIS" caused severe damage WITHOUT stating any other factors. That to me is stating the advisory caused 100% of the damage.

WSOPFAN,

I'm sorry to see you taking offense at this, but I read the post several times and I don't see him stating what you infer. I think you bring up very good points: the travel advisory shouldn't have been seen as a reason not to travel to Mexico, except for certain areas, and that a travel advisory was not the sole reason for economic troubles. However, I don't see where you and the OP disagree much. It sounds like you both are happy that everyone realizes that not all of Mexico is dangerous, and happy to see more travelers willing to travel to Mexico.

It's a lot like this site. Some people hear bad things about Scubaboard, that it's full of mean people. But, that's just not true: most of us are friendly, and there are incredibly few who are bad intentioned. But, sometimes things happen, we misunderstand, and we let ourselves get worked up over things.

Just as we all want people to know the wonders of Mexico, lets take a moment to make sure people also see Scubaboard for what it is: a place where two people from different places, who will probably never meet in real life, can both express their relief that a beautiful diving destination is going to get more travelers!

WOOOHOOO!!! THAT's what I'm glad to be hearing!

If I asked you who was on first you would say what? What is NOT on first that is for sure. BTW this magical little revised listing of the advisories is supposed to vastly improve tourism? Well if it caused so much damage to the economy by not reporting correctly then business should start booming in all areas with no advisory. I guess we will see............I know one thing for sure.........6 months or a year from now tourism will not be vastly improved just because of some revamped advisory........that is truly laughable.

Again, you miss the point.

There will be no boom due to the corrected advisory because it is ONLY a contributing factor to the poor economy. ONLY IF the travel advisory were totally responsible for the poor economy would you expect to see booming tourism in the near term. But it's not. We still have many other drags on spending like the financial market still having not recovered, high public debt with the very real possibility of higher taxes just ahead, high unemployment, job instability, low interest rates, etc.

And, of course, then we have you, you who seems to delight in finding the dark cloud in every situation. Sad.

Always with the negative waves, WSOPFAN, always with the negative waves .......
