OK I have a problem with my fins while using my drysuit. I can not easily get out of my fins. Here is what I have tried so far. I made sure the fins fit and they do. I was using V-Drives and they fit fine. They also had holes to break the vacuum so I figured they would work but it was a dog to get out of them.

Next I tried the Seaquest fins that come in a Giant size and these fit fine (NOT TOO SMALL) if anything a little big but fit well when I have two pairs of socks on. These too have holes to prevent a vacuum but yet I still need to work to get them off. I personally like to be able to quickly get out of my fins as I do a lot of rocky shore dives with a lot of waves so getting out of your fins quickly is ket to not getting beat up.

Even though there are holes to prevent a vacuum it almost seems that this is still the problem. I am wearing a rubber suit with rubber boots.

Any thaughts.:(

I tried a pair of IDI fins one time, and it almost took two people to get them off. I was wearing doubles at the time and invented some new dance steps the hip-hop bunch would be proud of.

Rubber against rubber is going to hang up unless you have enough room to break it apart. I use Turtle fins that have a large pocket, or Blades that are made of a slicker polymer stuff.

Have you thought about some lubesuit boots of footies? I used to own some V-drives and they come in the HUGE size. I know what you talking about.

How do you mean? I have drysuit rubber boots. Lube suits go on under everything and I fail to see how that would help.

We put a couple of squirts of silicon spray (Dacor in a pump bottle) into the foot pockets of our fins that seems to help aleviate this problem. Works with everything from wetsuit booties to DUI Rock Boots.

SubMariner is on the right track, but it is not a good idea to use silicone products anywhere around your drysuit.

You want to spray the inside of your foot pocket with a good dry teflon-based lube. It will last longer than silicone, also.

Happy diving,

I am very aware that silicone and a rubber drysuit do not go well together but the I like the idea of a teflon spray.

Silicone spray sounds like a great idea. You can buy that at any embroidery store for about 1/10 the price of a dive shop.

You can also buy LUBE SUIT booties that are oversized to fit on your drysuit boots. Just a thought, that's what I mean.
