A few Fiji underwater pics from the Taveuni area (Somosomo strait, Qamea, Laucula and Matangi islands including Noel’s and Yellow wall). These are from 2006.

There is significant soft coral of many colors – white, yellow, blue, pink, and purple and walls covered in each color. I couldn’t find anyone who could reasonably explain why soft corals of a certain color existed together in one spot or wall e.g. White wall, Yellow wall, Purple wall, etc.

The blue ribbon eels I found in the Somosomo strait.

The fields of plate coral were around Matangi on top of Noel’s and Yellow walls. Many eels (green moray) are on top of the mount and large numbers of schooling fish live and move along the walls.
Significant large sea fans fields are in this area as well near the Tasman strait.

I have a few more photos in my members gallery.
