We are going to Fiji in Feb 2010 and are planning on staying at Bedarra Beach Inn and diving with Diveaway Fiji. We are not sure about traveling with our equipment due to the fact we are going to New Zealand first and not sure what to do with the dive bag while spending 3 weeks in New Zealand.
Anyone know about the resort or diving or equipment would be helpful.

I haven't dived with Diveaway so can't comment on them but I know we have left stuff in a locker in an NZ airport in the past. That might be a possibility.

If you like sharks, you might want to look at doing a shark dive at Beqa Lagoon - it is great fun! Depending on where on the coral coast your accomodation is it might be a manageable trip. Beqa Adventure Divers - Welcome to Fiji-Sharks.com

The owners at Diveaway (Alex and Alice Hill) run a great shop and I wouldn’t worry about using their equipment. They also live near Bedarra (and handle the diving for Outrigger, next door to Bedarra) so diving with Diveaway is very convenient. If you are returning through Nadi after NZ, you could leave a dive bag at Left Luggage in the Nadi airport. It is monitored by Airport Security, and I’ve left excess bags there numerous times in the past when going to Australia or NZ. It is located at the far end of the domestic terminal. Oversize items (bikes, surfboards, etc) cost F$6.15 per item per day, suitcases or backpacks are F$4.10 per item per day, and day bags or small hand luggage run F$3.10 per item per day.
