Anyone up in northwest Fla have any info on what is going on with Buckeye trying to pipe toxic waters out to the ocean?? I looked on the internet and found a lot of old stuff but nothing current. I'm interested if buckeye will purify it's discharge water. I would be shocked if at this day and age they were allowed to pump directly to the ocean.

In case anyone is interested, the Buckeye pulp mill (I drove a logging truck to this facility for about 9 months) has polluted the Fenholloway river for a long time. The river discharges into a pristine area of the ocean. Apparently it's permits ran out and were not renewed and there plans were to pipe the water directly to the ocean. When I left in March 06, a new powerplant had been approved and wanted some or all of buckeyes discharge water.

This area is gorgeous, 105 miles of mostly untouched coastline, kayak country definitely.

The Buckeye paper mill has been polluting this area of North Florida for too long!!! UF will be holding a meeting soon that could give Buckeye state funding to further their polluting. If you care about stopping this bull ***** come over to the meeting and help!

Green-
BUCKEYE MUST BE STOPPED!!!!!! North florida's rivers have too much to offer to be further polluted by these corporate attackers!

The meeting at UF is on 8-21 "Purchasing & Disbursement Services Conference Room, Room 101, Elmore Hall, Radio Road, 11am-1pm"

IF YOU ARE ANYWHERE NEAR THE UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA, COME OVER AND HELP US PUT A STOP TO THIS STATE FUNDED POLLUTION!!!!!!!!
