I agree with herman - the way I get around it is to leave the camera in macro and use a close up wet lens.

There are three problems that I have with my 5060. First, I have an Oly housing and replacing all the seals is expensive. When I am shoot wide angle, there are six o rings to worry about and at $25 each, it gets expensive. Second, the BLM-1 battery, much better to have a camera that uses standard batteries. Third, the Oly housing does not play well with strobes other than Oly and the FFL-1 is pretty useless. That leaves you two options, a fiber optics cable or HeinrichsWeikamp GbR.

6 Orings??? What WA lens are you using? I am using an Inon wide angle, it's wet changable and has no external Orings. The fiber connections work very well or at least my Inon ones do. I do agree with you on the battery, that was the major reason I went 5050 instead of 5060.

When you put the Oly WA on the housing, you pick up 2 more rings, its dry not wet. Makes it tough to change from WA to macro when you want to. BTW, the cables work GREAT, until your wife takes pictures of you taking pictures. Her timing was superb! Every shot of me had my strobe firing. I was less impressed and we had a 'talk' later.

The very reason I am usiing Inon lens, all are wet and I can go from stacked macro to wide while underwater and on occasion do.
I have never had any problems with other strobes firing my Inon but I have set off quite a few other strobes.

I found a fix for the strobe by using a "digital adapter". Neat little gadget that hooks up to your hot shoe and transmits the info to the strobe without having to breach the housing. Works great for me and give old strobe virtual TTL with the 5060. HeinrichsWeikamp GbR

Hi Andew,

I just got back in the forum after s very long while. I also use a c-7070 and would be very happy if you could also share you spreadsheet of settings with me. I'm sure it would be very helpful to me as I still consider myself as a beginner.

This is my email just in case you are able to send it. sambads@hotmail.com

Cheers,

Badi
