bowl - great to see you are out diving! Love those nudis :)

3 March, 2012 - Muiron Islands, Ningaloo Reef, Western Australia

Gorgeous sea conditions - just a perfect topside day. Underwater it was a bit milky and we have a tremendous amount of food in the water. Which is awesome coz there is more sea life than you can imagine, but not so great for shooting! I also had a leak alarm go off in the housing so it came out of the water for the day pretty early. Luckily I had my Panasonic TS3 and was able to putter a bit with that camera.

We had white tip and grey reef sharks, multiple turtles, at least 13 species of nudibranchs, big schools of sea pike, tons of unicornfish, some cool puffers, morays, funky crabs, schooling drummers, a pair of long-tail ghostpipefish and I can't remember what all. Lots to see :)

Lovely shot. We didn't dive last weekend. We figured with all the flood waters hitting viz would be nasty. The dive shops cancelled all their arranged dives due to conditions. My luck.. I have to work this saturday so I will have to try to convince fish to dive in the afternoon or on Sunday.. I gotta get wet!

whish conditions were half that good here Alcina ... mega rain (lots of run off) and BIG long period swells ... and someone wants to go diving :dontknow:

Golden Crested Weedfish. Unfortunately my Iklite housing one of the gears broke so I was using the Canon Housing for the first time in many months. The camera housing lens tube creates quite a shadow even with the diffuser.. I had forgotten that so pretty disappointed with the results but here are a couple anyway

I figured I would post in this thread and we can start a new one for April since March is nearly over:(

bowl - I've changed the title so this thread is for Feb & March! Great to see you got out :) I think I'm heading out today but my spot may have been sold so I won't know for a bit.

What Canon housing/camera are you using? I've not had this problem with mine before - or at least not in a way I couldn't work around :( Bummer, especially when you are used to your Ike!

That weedfish is super cool!!

Didn't dive yesterday, but had a great day out with the whale sharks!

Swam with three different whale sharks, saw dugongs, dolphings & turtles. Snorkel sites were crazy with all manner of fish. Lunch was fabulous. It was a really nice day :)
