And that’s a wrap on Belize! They say it’s the people, not the place, that makes a trip unforgettable — and this adventure was the ultimate proof.

We went into this trip with high expectations, especially since it was the biggest investment we’ve made on a group adventure. And truthfully, the destination didn’t live up to the price tag, which we believe is why many are/were frustrated or being negative. Had it been a third of the cost, we wouldn’t have said a word….only really hungry 🤣

But here’s the thing: a trip is what you make it, and we chose to make it about connection.

Our favorite memories have nothing to do with the location and everything to do with the people. The shared laughter, the wonderful dives, and the friendships forged along the way — that was the real adventure.

You can’t put a price on that. We feel incredibly blessed and grateful for this crew, and the new friendships made. That’s the true treasure we’re bringing home, and we wouldn’t trade it for anything.

P.S. And while the resort may have had its challenges, the ocean never disappoints. Because everything is better underwater — especially when you spot an octopus on a night dive.

You've said it far better than I! And to add insult to injury, my SeaLife wasn't working, so I was unable to get any UW photos 😭 (I'm relying on everyone else to provide good stuff, and so far it's working out!). I refuse to let ANYTHING detract from the fun we had. Better to enjoy the good and not let the not-so-hot wreck a great vacation!

A bit jealous of your octopus find; my fave critter, and I missed a couple on the night dive, apparently. But still, amazing diving, and fantastic griends old and new!

Finally got inspired by Pete to change my Username from "mcdayton" (lame I know, just an old email address) on this trip so now it is time to upgrade my avatar to match the new Username "Nuclear Eel". Greetings.

Interesting how, the second you did the name change, our DM history for this trip erased the old name!
It was fun diving with you. Sorry that we had to lose you mid-week, but I am very, very familiar with family medical issues changing plans without notice.

Thank you. We're well versed after 33 years dealing with his condition. Alls well that ends well and we learned some valuable information for our future endeavors so that won't happen again.

Okay, you've inspired me! Provided the Powers What Be approve, I'll be known as Dive Barrister from now on. I've had JMTtor, based on my ancient AOL email, since I joined SB in 2006. That's impossible to pronounce, and means nothing to anyone but moi.

I was wondering who Nuclear Eel and Dive Barrister were! (I thought I had missed some people on the trip)
