I finally figured out how to transfer my dives to a digital logbook on my computer. Turns out there’s a lot more detail there than i can pen into my paper logbook.

I used Suunto’s DM program simply because I have a Suunto dive computer. I also tried Mac Dive but it only imported the five most recent dives (I’d have to purchase the program to get full functionality).

I don’t mind paying a little bit for a program if it offers something other logbooks don’t. Any Macintosh specific recommendations?

Suunto DM5 is joke. DiveLogDT and DiveLog for Mac and iOS, respectively, are great. They sync both ways and also backup to the cloud. Great features. I used it with a Vyper Air.

MacDive. Desktop and mobile versions. I have both. Just sad they’re not yet supporting data from 2 transmitters for Perdix AI for SM.

MacDive. The 5 dives is the Free Trial limit it will down load. You have to pay the $25 registration fee to get a full working copy but it is well worth the $$. It also support all or most of the current computers on the market, so you wont loose every thing if you switch brands.

Subsurface is another option.

Suunto Dive Manager is terrible piece of software. If their products were as bad as their software they would be out of business.

MacDive. Use it on my MacBook Pro and iPhone, and love it. The only thing I did not like, was the iPhone app is not included with the registration fee, but I got over it quickly.

MacDive is top notch. Never have had a single problem with that program.

SubSurface. It's free, and the interface is intuitive and looks nice. You can also do some dive planning on it.

MacDive which allows you to manage your equipment as well (when serviced, used on which dive etc..) Tried Subsurface, never could figure how to download the dives.
