Note that the DF2200PX "floats", but if you put rechargeables and a 22-gram aluminum carabiner on it, that sinks it. It was "floating" from the carabiner anchor on the bottom of the lake when we found it. :D

(The search and recovery we added to our Rescue class taught us well, apparently.)

I have a HawkEye DF2200PX from Norcross Marine. I've found it works quite well, and at $99.99, it's not too expensive, either. :D

If you want cheaper, they even sell forctory recertified DF2200PX units for only $54.99.

How does it does it display fish? I am used to the above water types that give a picture of the bottom structure on the display. The description is not very good on the website.
 
It just has a little fishy icon. The display is just a numeric display (with a few icons: fish, m, ft, etc)..
