Note that the DF2200PX "floats", but if you put rechargeables and a 22-gram aluminum carabiner on it, that sinks it. It was "floating" from the carabiner anchor on the bottom of the lake when we found it.

(The search and recovery we added to our Rescue class taught us well, apparently.)

I have a HawkEye DF2200PX from Norcross Marine. I've found it works quite well, and at $99.99, it's not too expensive, either.

If you want cheaper, they even sell forctory recertified DF2200PX units for only $54.99.

How does it does it display fish? I am used to the above water types that give a picture of the bottom structure on the display. The description is not very good on the website.

It just has a little fishy icon. The display is just a numeric display (with a few icons: fish, m, ft, etc)..
