Well, I purchased a MR22 Mares Abyss regulator and a Mares Proton octopus, so I’m set there.

I had narrowed my choices down to the Abyss, the TX 100 (if I could find one) and the Atomic M1. Since the Abyss was on sale for $249 at my LDS, I purchased one. I trained on it yesterday. Breaths much easier than the reg the day before.

I can’t make up my mind on when to buy a computer. I’m thinking of getting the uwatec Air Pro, but should I buy one before I leave, or just use table diving alone until I’ve done 25 dives or so?

I'm going to sign up for the boat trip based on everyone's suggestions.

Thanks all,

Xanthro

Got my cert today. Did six dives total. All about 30 minutes. The current was very strong today, and my dive buddy tired out and wasn't having fun, so we called two dives early.

Did well on my breathing. On last dive average was 23 feet, strong current, after 29 minutes, I still had 1700 psi.

Now that I have my learners permit, it's time to start diving.

Going out for two dives on saturday.
