I have a clean face, but I have a buddy who uses KY Jelly and it seems to work. Vaseline is said to work but the petroleum in it breaks down the silicone mask skirt.

I eventually just decided to shave it off. Now I have no problems with a leaking mask and look 10 years younger, what a deal!

I'm with Matt. I just shave the moustache just a bit lower and shopped for a mask that sealed right under my nose. No leaks at all.

What do other people with moustaches/beards use to get their masks to seal? Up until now I’ve just shaved my goatee off when I’m going diving and worry about it growing back later. Would vacuum grease work?

Just trim a bit and pick the right mask, no problem. No need to be trimmed tight and girl like. Just create a surface to seal your mask. Vaseline does work under your mustache if needed.

See, my mask doesn't leak there, its around my eyes or forehead it tends to break seal when I laugh. :D
