I'm a heavy breather and my lds told me 108's are too big for doubles is there any reason other than the heavy load to not double these up? what are your opinions on diving double 108 faber. i'm learning

I have dove faber 108's for four years and find them an ideal tank for doubles...true they are a little heavier on land than say a set of 85's but if the type of diving you plan on doing dictates a larger gas volume 108's are a good choice.

If you can handle the load and find a place to fill them properly, you can carry 265 cubic feet of gas on your back. Climbing a pitching boat ladder, moving on a rolling deck, or humping them into a cave site, you can really do a number on your back if you're not in good shape. Guys who mess their backs up doing this never seem to get healed quite right.

Physical fitness to carry any cylinder is important.

But there is nothing wrong with double 108's if you can handle them

108's are very common doubles in the tech diving community.. I did my entire
tech training with two sets of these..

I dive Faber LP108s for 80% of my doubles dives, the rest are either 85s or 120s.

The Faber 108 is an ideal set of doubles -- our tank spec chart shows why.

light weight
neutral when empty
good volume

Cheers

too big? I just started diving dbl 133's - however I am almost 7 feet @ 325 lbs so its not really all that heavy for me

if you can handle them go for it

7ft & 325, I'll bet there aren't ANY dbls that will be a problem for you, sheeesh
As for little 'ole me at 6 ft and 210 I PREFER my faber's (121's) to my PST's(130's)
Put a cave fill on the Fabers and you've got some gas!

The simplest and the common answer is always "If you can handle it" Nobody knows it except you....
