F1 vs F2

I've never used splits before, so couldn't really comment with authority, but you still get a good, stiff blade with the F2s, so I'd say you lose perhaps 15-25% efficiency over a big power fin. I still happily use the F2s in mild to medium currents, and could use them in heavy current with no real issues like I'm led to believe you get with split fins, it just so happens I had a larger "power" fin available to me most times, so it's all relative.

I don't think you'd regret the F2 purchase for your described diving.
 
I don't know about the F1s--though I would assume they are similar in this respect--but the F2s have a huge foot pocket. I love my F2s, and that the pocket is just too big for my foot when I'm wearing 3 mm wetsuit booties is my only complaint. They are compact fins (great for travel) but with a pocket apparently sized for drysuit boots.

Totally agree. If I could get a better fit I'd rate them more highly. Small is not small unless you're a Sasquatch.
