Just thought I'd share the fact that Diver's supply in Charlotte has EZ Pro Spring straps for $29.95 (EZ also makes a strap with plastic connectors, which sort of defeats the purpose of springs straps, IMHO, and they have them too.)

I bought a pair of the pros over the weekend and am a convert. I think they were reviewed in Rodale's last month.

Any chance the metal bracket will erode through the fin's attachment stub? I've got a pair of solid rubber fins, but am wondering if the metal will abrade the rubber more than the stock plastic clip. I've been eyeing the EZ straps myself, as they look nice, and other posts here have been positive.

I'm not sure Rodale's is Rodale's anymore, incidentally.

Good point on Rodale's. Thanks for correcting me. Old habits die hard.

As to the plastic erosion, I'm wondering about that myself. I put some thick O-rings on either side of the metal clip to reduce the movement and related wear, but I don't know about long-term erosion. I decided to put them on an inexpensive pair of Plana Avantis, so if they damage anything, I'm only out $45. I'll post something if it turns out to be a problem.

I dove with the new straps again yesterday, and they were comfortable and very easy to put on. I'm planning to try them on a few more dives, then buy another set for my Tigers if things still look good.
