i dont know what started it but i woke up with a busted blood vessel in my right eye. im planning on snorkeling agin this weekend and have a 30-40 foot dive next weekend, will this affect my eye? I know, go see a doctor, but in case someone else has seen/experienced the same thing...........

And equalize your mask more often on the way down. :D

i found out what it was and dandy is right. i went snorkeling on tues and on one of the free dives i remember getting a real bad mask squeeze. thats what did it. thanks all

:D I love it when that happens.

It never hurts to seek more information on minor injuries. We try to give good suggestions here, and calling DAN is always a free option - member or not.

When is an injury not minor? That question becomes increasingly challenging as you get into my age area. :)

thats where i got my last opinion from. they confirmed it all up. of course they advised me to go see a doc. i did speak to a person whos sister is a PA or doc and they say they see it all the time. it shouldnt be a prob. i have no pain, vision obstruction, or swelling in my eye. im GTG

My husband experienced the same problem you did. He was advised to get antiobotic drops for his eyes, which he did. Did not stop him from diving though, he continued the rest of the week. But it did take about a week 1/2 for that busted blood vessal to heal.
