Anyone know why the price on the ET seems to have skyrocketed online in the last couple of days? I just spent two weeks in Playa Del Carmen and Cozumel and decided while there that I would buy an ET when I got home. I was watching prices and Leisurepro and scuba.com both listed it at <200$ the whole time I was away. Today scuba.com is asking 349 and Leisurepro is listing at 459!! Is this the a result of the acquisition by Huish, some production issue? Any info appreciated. I guess the ET is no longer top on my list.

i bought the scuba.com priced deluxed version just before the price pop up again (193USD)...

really... what is the difference between the deluxe and the normal? the padding? the bladder? can i remove the padding? as in downgrade the deluxe to be normal?

The big difference is 4 buckles. The deluxe harness has 2 shoulder buckles, a waist buckle and a chest strap which resulted in a $50-$75 increase in price. Anything else like weight pockets or padding is extra.

Personally, I doubt that you'll find as fine a BC anywhere for only $350! Shoot me for expressing my opinion, but I always thought that they way under priced the Express Tech. I own five and all my students learn to dive in one.

I agree, both the ET and the ETD were under priced. Having said that, I'm glad I got the ETD a couple of years ago. I only wish I could dive enough to wear it out and have to buy another one.

Even though I got the ETD, I ended up downgrading it by taking off the shoulder pads and chest strap. I mainly got it for the buckles.

If it would make you feel better about your purchase, we'd be happy to charge you more...;) Joking about charging more, but we do agree that it's an awesome product at an insane price. Value and quality...can't beat that.

Cheers,
