Express tech deluxe 24 lb bladder
Have gone through various threads in the forum and have shortlisted this BC, however I am not sure if the 24 LB lift is right for me
I mostly dive in the Tropics with water temperatures of 80, I am comfortable in a Lavacore shirt and shorts with 6 KG weights, the tank mostly used is AL 80, will the 24 lb of lift capacity be adequate?

24 lb will be more than enough. You could do the kind of diving you describe quite comfortably with no BCD.

The job of a BC is to COMPENSATE for bouyancy changes during the dive, not to hold up gross overweighting. For an 80cf tank and no compressable exposure suit, that adds up about 4 lbs (2 kg) of bouyancy change from the start of the dive to the end...which means you should start the dive with a max of excess weighting of 4 lbs(2kgs), any more than that and you are overweighted so all the lift you need is around 5 lbs (2+kg) of lift. The equasion changes some if the BC is intergrated since it must also hold up the weights you need to make your body neutral if you take the BC off but even then the 24 lb is still enough to handle your 6kg plus the 2 for the bouyancy shift of the tank. I dive that exact setup fairly often and most of the time I remove the bladder all together and when it's attached I never add air to it.

A 24lb should be plenty of lift to be able to help your buddy out in a jam also. I personally dive a 27lb wing which is basically the same. (No doubt someone will disagree and tell me there is a world of difference...)
