I'm thinking about getting DAN tags for the family.

Does anyone have experience with them?

I got the big blue plastic ones for my divebags, so when they mess up the bodycount and find your gear at the dock, they know who's missing.

I put "cops and lawyers" under allergies, and wish I hadn't put my SSN on the things.

Mine are 3-4 years old, and have taken quite a beating.

Just remember to think about what you want others to see on it in this day and age, since it sort of hangs around in public in perpetuity.

I have one attached to my BCD with name and emergency medical-related info, but no SSN etc. per Keysdrifter454's observation. It's handy when you're trying to distinguish your BCD from the identical ones on the dive boat, as well as providing info in the event someone has to drag me back to shore. FYI, when I ordered my tag several months ago it took a little longer than expected to receive it. The manufacturer explained that they manufacture them in bulk, so they sometimes wait a bit to get enough orders in. Don't know if that's their current policy, though.

I had a set of dog tags made from some online store (forget which one) that has my name, DAN membership number, and DAN phone number on it. I wear these whenever I go diving and don't take them off until several hours after my last dive.
Just another option.

Me, too! I've been surprised that I haven't seen more of them, as they are quite economical.

Got those, too, and wear one anytime I leave the house. The other one is on my travel backpack.
