Experience on red-filters

Hi guys,
I'm thinking of buying a red/magicfilter on my Fantasea housing for Nikon.
Does it make a difference in general, using one on let's say 15 meters depth? I do use manual white balance, but I've learned in the past few dives that on 15 meters (or so) it doesn't work that well. Maybe a redfilter can help out in those cases, but is it any use according to you? I did look at some youtube-video's of Fantasea where they perform the difference between shooting with and without, but let's face it: that's the brand talking...
I'm more interested in what you have to say about this!

The filter takes away light there is no need to have one if you shoot in raw
There are some circumstances where a filter is useful for video but for stills there really is no need at all
