Trying to figure out exactly what wingnut size/threading to buy as backups for the supplied wingnuts that come with the US Single Tank Adapter (the one typically sold with the S-Tek Stainless backplate). The common 5/16-18 does not seem to fit the STA threads. I suspect the other possibilities are 3/8-18, 8mm or 10mm depending on whether Scuba Italy sends metric parts to the US; these are sizes that the ergonuts apparently will work with. I thought the 3/8-18 was pretty uncommon....

Spoke to Scubapro tech support and they actually don't know; the parts come from Italy and there is no spec sheet or product manual for the STA that lists this. They also don't sell the wingnuts separately, although they do sell the nifty plastic ergonuts as a set - they just don't know if they come with wingnuts.

I'd go to Home Depot and take one with me if I wasn't on an Island about about to fly to another island....

Anyone know the answer to this?

Thanks!

It's M8.

I never even would've guessed that someone would not use M8 bolts and nuts for doubles or STAs.. it's the de-facto standard here and all around the world where i've been so far.

Judging from the Scubapro promotional video, I think that the Scubapro S-Tek has been designed and made by SP’s South African subsidiary. Their Seawing fins are too.

South Africa is all metric.
