The H2Ice Drying Rack is a unique and ultra-easy system for hanging and drying dive gear. The H2Ice Drying Rack was developed to decrease the time needed to dry dive gear, allowing divers to enjoy their dives and not worry about the wet gear that notoriously comes with multiple-day diving.

The H2Ice Drying Rack innovation comes with the high-powered DC blower that dries any wet sports gear in 5-6 hours including booties which never seem to dry. The blower pushes air through the system and out through individual pipes with holes drilled into them, each accommodating its own piece of gear including but not limited to wet suit booties, gloves, hood (integrated or separate) and wetsuit. There is also an option to add drying pipes for a dry suit.

The system assembles and disassembles in minutes and can be transported with an optional carrying case, so you can take it with you on a trip, or just store it in between dives.

The H2Ice Drying Rack uses DC power available from any cigarette socket located in a car, RV or boat. It can also be powered with the included DC/AC Converter allowing you to plug it into any available AC outlet.

The rack is available in two configurations, a single rack to accommodate a single set of gear, or for couples or families, a dual rack to hold two complete sets of gear. It is available inblue, black, grey, red, white and yellow.

Has anyone tried one of these? Some where on this forum I saw a similar rack the difference was that it was used to clean the gear by spraying water on the inside of the gear as it hung on the rack.(Can not find it) Any thoughts on this.......:spaninq:

It looks like it would be pretty simple to build one.

Yep! It just looks like a bunch of PVC bits. You could probably hook up a modified lpi to control the airflow and run it off a tank too. Couldn't cost more than $100 tops.

Using SCUBA air would be pretty wasteful. I would use a small blower (or two) from an old computer.

It looks like the manufacturer uses the kind of blower you would find on a boat.

Wow, a families worth of booties all being ventilated at once. I home they use Mirazime!

I would be embrassed to sell that thing for $279...it's nothing more than a blower and $40 in sprinkler fittings.

If you wanted to make one that sprayed the inside of the gear why couldn't you use the same design and instead of a simple hole on the end of the PVC use a small sprinkller head or brass mister fitting.

If you are going to do a wash rack, I would go one step further and put in a vacuum fed detergent bottle so that it could actually wash/disinfect the gear not just rinse.

Maybe SCUBA air would be a bit wasteful (but I'm lucky enough not to have to pay for tanks). Can we put our heads together and come up with something that washes and dries your gear? This thing looks really simple to build.

If it could pack my gear bag too that would be a bonus.

Take whatever design you like and then just plumb it from two directions.

On one side have your pressurized water (garden hose?) with a sanitizer solution. You could hook this up like those spray on weed-n-feed setups you get at Home Depot. At the end of each pipe instead of just a series of holes to disperse air (which I am assuming is what this guy is doing@ h2ice) use a non-popup sprinkler head or misting head.

On the other side you would have some air source. Either a compressor or the fan setup that was linked in this thread from west marine. All you would have to do is make sure that you isolate the two sources with a shut off valve.

Someone on another thread on this subject (sorry, I'm too lazy to look for it so I can give proper credit), used a air dryer he picked up at a thrift store (the old-fashioned kind with the hose and bag-hood) and plumbed it in to the rack. Warm air!

I made a small rack for drying hoods, gloves and booties. I never had much trouble with the suit, but the small stuff always seems to stay damp inside and develops a good funk. It doesn't have a dryer, but everythign sries out in a few days anyway.
