Equinox HD6 Housing transport

I recently purchased an Equinox HD6 for my Sony CX-150. The thing weighs a ton, but has very nice underwater buoyancy. I was on a small boat that only had a small freshwater bucket for cameras. My housing would not fit in it with the handles attached, so I held the housing in my hands for the entire way to and from the dive sites. It was very ruff and I had a very difficult time. One wave we hit threw me and my housing to the deck and I saw stars for a few seconds. If I would have put the housing on the boat deck, it would have been pounded. What is the best way to transport housing to and from the dive sights in rough seas without having to hold it. There’s got to be an answer to this, so please chime in. I did have a few issues with the housing, however I want to give Equinox the opportunity to correct the problems before I made my final review on this forum. So far, they have been very helpful and willing to make the correction needed. Thanks in advance for the replies!

My final review of the HD6; all of the issues I had have been corrected without a problem and they were very helpful. I read some bad reviews about Equinox that had me worried, but do not let them sway you from this company. The housing isn't the easiest to use as I would imagine electronic controls would take much less skill, but they all work with some practice. The wide dome port with the included wide angle lens works great! The white balance function on the recorder is the key to making good video, well, besides all of the other skills that an underwater videographer needs. For the money, I would suggest the HD6. In the right hands, with an HD recorder, it will bring home some great footage of your dives. I spent less the $2,000.00 recorder & hoouseing to get into the HD game and it’s worth every dime!

I've used buckets on boats, and at other times just left the housing under the seat... seems to make no difference to the housing. It's so sturdy.
Just out of the sun.
Just make sure not to allow anything in a bucket to scratch the red filter. Make a soft cover perhaps.
I even jump into the water with the housing.

The weight and the bulk of the housing is a good thing: makes it more stable.
For flying, I take the lead weights apart and put them in my computer case, and the rest goes in my carry-on bag with regs and necessities.
So far the record at security is 40 minutes in Tel Aviv....
