Just ordered the HDR-HC7 from Amazon last night, great price. This is my anniversary and Christmas present from my wife. My daughter's wedding is June 21, so I want to record events leading up to it and her wedding day. Also, looking forward to underwater HD video now.

Do you already have the housing for it?
 
I have my Equinox ProPak 6 that I used for my DCR-TRV33. When I get the camera, Christmas Day from Santa Wife, I will see if it fits the housing. If not, I have contacted Equinox and I will need to send it to them for retro fitting.
 
Congratulations! I will be interested in hearing what you think of the HC-7 once you use it UW.
