I'm new to the dive community here in So Cal and need a good ENT Dr. for some sinus issues. I live in the eastern end of LA County and would like someone in that general area (Including Western San Bernardino County). Any suggestions?:)

Diver Jan,

I'm in the Glendora area, but I would be willing to travel to Fullerton to get an ENT Doc that is familiar with Scuba issues. DAN only had one Dr. listed and he was in L.A., don't want to go downtown if I don't have to.

If it is the Dr. at Cedar Sinai (forgot his name), I recommend not going to him. I had some ear issues last year and called DAN. They recommended this Dr. and he was of no help whatsoever. All he tried to do was sell me some of his company's product. It was a big waste of time.

Yeah, the Dr was at Cedar Sinai. I'd have thought there would be a few more DAN approved ENT's in all the So Cal area.:(

If you have not found a doc yet, I went to Hanah Bui in Fullerton. She is located on Harbor Blvd just south of St. Jude Medical Center. I went to her for my baratrauma of my middle ear a couple of years ago. She was great. She also did my tonsilectomy and well as my sons.

You might try calling Dr. Michael Werner who is a DAN dive doctor in Tustin. He might be able to rec someone too that is familiar with diving issues.

I hope this helps.

Use Dr. Ron Roth is Sanata Monica. Active diver, inactive NAUI instructor, very big on non-invasive stuff as a first try, and he's the guy who turned me on to Entex-LA, the Wonder Drug of diving for ear/sinus problems. Office number is 310/829-7792.

Let them know it's diving-related when you call for the appointment and ask specifically for Dr. Roth. He's a nice guy, too.
