I was just introduced to ScubaBoard, registering yesterday. In talking to another diver, it was suggested that I would be able to find other local divers to team up with. I'd like to get into a group and into the water. Who is out there?

Just curious...where is Englewood, FL? It's not a city I'm familiar with. My husband and I live up in Jacksonville, but the Florida Conch Divers group on here are always getting together. Have fun on here...these people are great.

Julie,
Englewood is on the Gulf, just south of Venice (which is south of Sarasota) and north of Punta Gorda (hurricane Charlie) which is north of Ft. Myers.

In that case, you should have NO trouble finding buddies. If I were more proficient with this board, I would put a Conch Divers link in here but I'm not quite sure how. Give it time, they will drop in and say hello...if they don't, someone will be kind enough to toss you the right link. :D Again, welcome to the board!

http://www.scubaboard.com/showthread.php?t=111781 that is a dive for venice this coming sat

Welcome to the board!

:confined: Hello there Bill, My name is Matt and I wanted to welcome you to the community. I think it’s the best board on the internet for divers. The people on here make it a really friendly place. It’s a great place to see what’s going on with divers. If you’d like to chat, please PM me. Just wanted to make you feel welcome!

Safe Diving, Take care.:azvatar:

Yep - lots of SB Divers in that part of the state and you're not too far from prime diving on the east side and the Keys. Check your local club forum here...

And don't be shy about posting. Click Forums above, tour the long list of choices, and jump in anywhere you're qualified. PM me with any questions, and I'll try to find a pretty good answer.

Bill, welcome to SB! (Thank you Laurens for the link!) Julie is right, NO trouble finding buddies! Venice dives are happening all the time and the Florida Conch Divers are a great group. Sign up on the list and post any time you see a thread on a dive you're interested in! Heck, go this coming Saturday and jump right in! :D Happy and safe diving!

Howdy, from across the harbor. As mentioned above, there's lots of us around here. Anytime you're up for a dive, let me know. I'm hoping to hit Venice beach this weekend.

Welcome to the board Bill. And welcome to the Florida Conch Divers..... Come join us for some diving. Check the forum for trips and happenings... We Conchers like to get together...
