That's really why I asked. Shore diving possibilities in East End seem to me to be declining, which is very sad. I wish the Govnt. would set aside rights of way for shore divers.
Or even some entrepreneur setting up shop and renting tanks somewhere up by, for example, Babylon.

Gustav could make the whole discussion moot for a while though.

Tanks are not the problem. The difficulty is shore access. It is getting more and more difficult to get to shore diving entry points without trespassing on someone's land.

I agree 100%. I guess I wasn't too clear on my post.

What I meant to say is that that, while public access would be ideal, I would settle for a setup like most of the shore diving sites in town. I would have no problem with a house reef where someone provides easy access in exchange for the tank rental. Heck, they could probably even sell me an après dive beverage or two.

Hi All,

A shore dive on East End would rock Anywhere from Old Man Bay to around to the south of East End would be great. Many of the dive sites, espcially to the north, are fairly close to shore. Not as close as Turtle Reef perhaps, but doable.

Last trip we dived quite a bit at Turtle Reef where Ollen Miller has set up his Sundivers shop to replace the one that Divetech vacated. Divetech's new shore dive is also great, although the entry can be rugged in the right conditions.

The Sundivers location benefits from it's close association to the Macabuca bar & grill. Heck, ya gotta walk right thru the outdoor bar to get to the entry.

Someone tell Steve and Mo from OF that they need to open a beach location. I'll volunteer to come down to work it!

Billinwiliamston: Good to see you.
