While we've read, or had the experience of diving with whales, porpoises, rays, etc., I had the pleasure (?) of having two remoras decide my wife and I would be fun to frollic with. This happened off Ft. Lauderdale (kudo's to Dave at South Florida Diving Headquarters) and I figured as long as I kept moving they wouldn't attach to me! But for about five minutes they allowed us to pet them (I was wearing gloves and could only imagine what they really felt like) while they swam inside our hoses, stopping to look in our masks, nipping at my float grip and my wifes hair. Finally a couple more remoras swam by below us and our buds took off.

Very cool... good stuff :multi:

I had one that thought it was going to attach itself to me. Of course, this was back before I knew what he was. Had he attached, I probably would have a slight stroke, being that I didn't know what he was. He was a rather persistent little bugger but, I did manage to get him to understand that I wouldn't mess with his space if he didn't mess with mine. I had an odd encounter with a clam. I actually watched one bounce across the sand. It was pretty cool.
