EMT scissors with thick gloves?

I use them with 5mm gloves without any problems, however I have small hands. A person with large paws might have problems. I prefer the EMT shears over a knife in most situations.

I'll second what Steve said. I also use emt shears with 5mm gloves. I have used them on several occasions and they have worked better than a knife. I have had a problem with them rusting, but since they are so cheap it doesn't matter.

Same for me - no probs with thick (slystack..sleestack) three fingered type gloves and the EMT shears are more useful than a knife in my experience.

Yeah i don't really see any reason i'd want a knife over a "snipping" tool of some kind.
