Hello all:

Looking for advice on an electronic dive log.

Currently using Dive Log 5 for my iPad (which seems quite comprehensive) but I purchased it before realizing that in order to sync it with my laptop, I needed to buy the full version which costs about 40 Euro.

If you have any advice on this product, or others that are available, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the advice.

I've been very happy with divelog for iOS. It syncs with MacDive, which is fantastic. I like the fact that it is computer agnostic. So down the road when I upgrade my dive computers I'm not tied down to a specific brand.

Divelog has some great graphs to show profile, sac, etc. when fed from macdive.

I am a heavy user of MacDive and Dive log on my iPhone. And MacDive downloads very quickly and simply from my Suunto D4i. I have tried several others, but have found this a fabulous and reliable combination. I do know MacDive is only for Mac laptops. The developer has noted that it won't be migrated to the iPad.

Don't have any recommendations on the PC side.

I am using Diving Log 5 too and it seems pretty good.

divePAL: available for iPad, iPhone, Android phones and PC (Mac version coming in September).
Synchronizes logs across devices / platforms via the divePAL cloud.

Your website barely says anything about this program. No screenshots, features etc. Could be good software but I'm not sold. Too many questions.

You are correct. We need to update a bit the divePAL page. Will probably do it for DEMA when a major announcement is expected.

But, we have tons of info on our divePAL support forum
Additionally, we have created several videos that show divePAL mobile in action:

Dive Analyzer (more details here)

Now, that's much better. You should stick those 4 video links on your page. Interesting looking app. What are the fees? One time fee or monthly? Sounds like you need upgrades for various things especially Nitrox which I dive with A LOT!

Actually we did that already and create free online classes for a couple of our Apps: My bluebuddy for iPhone and Watershot for iPhone
We are working on an online class for divePAL too.

Basic version of divePAL is free. It includes unlimited logs, synchronization with other platforms / Apps, Dive Sites Manager and basic Dive Analyzer (with depth (60ft) / time (60min) limitations).
To analyze more advanced dives you need an Advanced license ($3.99/y).
The cost of the Nitrox license is $5.99/y

So $10/yr if you want both or does the Nitrox cover the advanced in one shot? Do you have to use blue buddy? Could I not use my Suunto Zoop or Atomic Cobalt with this as well?
