We're leaving for 10 days at LCBR in about a month and I'm starting to go over my detailed pre-trip gear checklist.

Regarding electrical appliances...we won't be bring many, but I will have a few (charger for the video cam batteries, and a couple others).

I believe the Caymans uses the same 110-120 ac current that's in use in the USA, and the plugs are the same two flat blade style. However, I've read elsewhere that many sockets there don't accept "polarized" plugs where one blade is larger than the other (which are the norm nowadays). Any truth to that? Has anyone ever had problems plugging in there?

Thanks!

Never had any issues whatsoever with any of our stuff. If it works in Canada/USA, it will work here.

Most all buildings here have standard US-style 3 prong outlets. I haven't run into any two prong outlets at all, but there may be some in a few older homes.

We operate on the US standard 110-120V at 60Hz. That seems to drive Brits nuts when they first arrive and find "their" islands aren't to their standard.
